Getting An Early Start!
Thinking about starting your Memory Walk team efforts early? Below are some ideas for team captains who don’t want to wait:
- Register your team online! Click on the links above for more information.
- Contact the Alzheimer’s Association at 800-491-2717. Let us know you are starting early. Get fundraising tips, as well as Memory Walk materials! Currently, you can download the Team Captain brochure, the Team Registration form, and an Individual Registration/Donation form.
- Recruit enthusiastic people to help.
- Set your team goals for fundraising and walker recruitment.
- Plan several fundraising activities from now until Memory Walk. Click here for a list of ideas!
- Ask your company’s Human Resources Manager about matching gifts. Be sure to let your co-workers know how they can double the difference.
- Plan a Memory Walk kick-off for your workplace, friends, church or civic group. Host a breakfast, lunch or reception. Make it fun - balloons, streamers, prizes! Share your reasons for getting involved. Let people know you need their help. Have a representative from the Alzheimer’s Association speak about how the community benefits from the Walk.
- Have fun! Fun is infectious, and others will want to get involved.
